Getting There: Mt. Bachelor is located 22 miles southwest of Bend on the Cascades Lakes Highway, a Forest Service National Scenic Byway. Throughout the season a bus service operates daily between Bend and Bachelor. Air service is offered at the Redmond Airport, 15 miles from Bend, with service by Alaska/Horizon and United Express. Car rental service is available at the airport. Bus service into Bend is offered by Greyhound while Amtrak train service is offered at Chemult, 60 miles south of Bend. The drive from either the San Francisco Bay Area/Northern California or Portland is especially scenic. From the south, take Interstate 5 to Weed, California, then travel north on Highway 97 through Klamath Falls to Bend. From the north, drive east from Portland on Highway 26 to Madras and follow Highway 97 south to Bend; or take Highway 22 east from Salem or Highway 20 east from Albany to Highway 97 south into Bend.

Staying There: A variety of accommodations are offered in and near Bend, from upscale lodges and inns to budget hotels. On the high end, favorites include the Inn of the Seventh Mountain and Sunriver Resort, which both provide transportation to and from the mountain and a wide range of after-ski services.
